Personal

Personal Experience
with 'N Sync
We also went to Electric
Circus at Much to see them, because we really
wanted their autograph
but unfortunately were not successful. There's
really not much to tell
cuz both events were filmed and later shown on
Much and City, so any
time in T.O., should stay tuned to these stations
to see when they air
again. Some of the highlights you get to see :
some of Justin's smooth
basketball moves in the Much interview where
backstreet were mentioned
more then once by their good friend rick,
yet sadly no songs.
And a much hyped 'N Sync hanging out at E.C. with
a estatic Juliette Powell
is fun to watch, especially Justin's face when
Backstreet are mentioned
yet again.
Personal Experience
with 'N Sync
In April me and Gina
skipped school to see one of our new favourite
groups " 'NSync" at
the Pickering Town Centre. We arrived to
see everyone pretty
much had the same idea and we joined close to
800 others girls waiting.
We waited for close to seven hours, and more and
more girls kept coming.
We realized we were too late to get a crappy
piece of paper with
a number written on it which would allow us to get
their autographs, so
we decided just to find a good spot and at least
get some good pictures
to paste on our site. Well, after waiting, and
waiting they finally
ran out on stage and broke into "I want you back", then
"Tearing up my heart".
They sounded pretty good until they started singing
such songs by Usher,
and "Get Jiggy with it" by Will Smith. The performance
lasted roughly an hour
and then the autograph session started which
lasted for another 45
minutes. Lots of the people who weren't getting
autographs lined up
outside by their limo and eventually started carrying
on a conversation with
the loser limo driver, who of course, was very
flattered. After they
had signed 200 autographs they left through
a blocked exit into
their limo. All in all, the experience was mediocre,
but they sounded pretty
bad when they were singing songs from other bands.
And everywhere you turned,
you would see someone flashing a pack of
backstreet stickers
or a spice girls postcard book. I guess Toronto fans are
still totally devoted
to the groups who weren't "an overnight success".
P.S. We are going
to the 'N sync concert in Toronto!!! Since we were
unable to get tickets
to Backstreet......=(
The Intimate and
Interactive Experience
As all of you bsb fans
in Toronto know, the Backstreet Boys were here
recently at Much for
an I&I following their concert. Me (mirella), Gina
and our two friends
Heidi and Julie went along with 2000 other die-hard bsb
fans downtown to see
our fave band. We stood outside waiting for eight
hours (hence we didn't
have tickets to go inside) and finally after all the
pushing and shoving,
swaying, swearing, watching that retarded AJ wannabe
in the window above
(I hear he's an EC dancer) and listening to Master T
count the minutes, each
longer then the last the show finally started - and
if you stood up as tall
as you could, you may have been able to see a
glimpse to nick's hair
through the glass and crowd. Well, we stood outside
screaming until they
came outside, then screamed more. We threw Jolly
ranchers at Kevin, but
I guess he didn't notice. Then the show was over
and we rushed to the
back of the city parking lot while everyone else was
listening to "All I
have ti give" and when the song ended they rushed into
their vans, but not
before Aj flashed a peace sign, Howie gave a little
wave and Nick jumped
up for some unknown reason and Brian smiled. At us!!!!
We were the only
ones there so it must have been at us! Then the police
officers started to
say go home and whatever crap but our bsb experience
was complete. A little
wave can go a long way.
Our Olympic Experience
On Wednesday March 18th
1998, Gina, me (Mirella) and our friend Heidi went
down to the City of
Toronto's ' Salute Our 1998 Winter Olympic and
Paralympic Athletes
' at Nathan Phillips Square, Toronto City Hall. It
was the official Winter
Games Rally, and we went with the intention of
seeking a glimpse of
Ross Rebagliati, in our opinion the coolest and cutest
Canadian athlete ever.
So we arrived there and the ceremony began with the
athletes carrying Canadian
flags into the Hall. A few of the athletes
which attended were:
the men's curling team (lead by Mike Harris), a member
of the women's silver
medal hockey team, and a few men speed skaters and of
course, Ross.
Medals were presented to each of the athletes, and a special
medal for the head of
Roots who received a medal for "making our athletes
look good". We
got great pics with Gina's camera, (most of Ross) which we
will show on this page
as soon as we get them developed. As soon as it
started, it was over,
and we still hadn't gotten Ross's signature, our main
goal. The athletes started
to leave to go upstairs to a luncheon and in a
last desperate attempt
ran up to the guy who's head of roots and asked for
a signature. This
guy was totally nice, and looked at us kind of weird and
then said: "uhh, I'm
not Ross, you know...". We told him we loved his
clothing and we kind
of got into a conversation about school, Roots models
etc. Then, he
was soooo nice that he wiped out his cell phone and asked us
if we knew where the
Eaton Centre was and to go over there and tell the
clerk to give us three
official Olympic Roots hats compliments of him. We
hadn't bought hats yet,
and were totally ecstatic that after thanking him
like, twelve times,
we ran over to the Eaton Centre and received our free
Olympic hats!
So the day was soooo great, and we felt like the most cool
people in the whole
damn Eaton Centre, walking around with our Olympic
hats, personally given
to us by the Prez of Roots! So it goes to show that
if people started to
take more interest in our Olympic athletes and Olympic
rally's, you can be
rewarded because no matter if they have a gold medal or
a 16th place finish,
just to see the support of fans can make any athlete
feel like a champion.
